Just to let all of you know, we are now set up to order online as a school on Scholastic! We have 5 different book club orders available online for March and 2 additional Book Clubs; Colossal Nonfiction: Leveled for Guided Reading/Grades K-6 and Kids’ Picks: Favorite Topics and Best-Loved Books for Grades K-6. Check out the new online edition of the ERCLC Student Handbook (Parent/Student Handbook). There is a permanent link to it on the Resource Page. By the way, if you haven't visited the Resource Page recently, be sure to check it out. There are a number of significant new items. If you haven't been there at all, be sure to do so. This is a huge collection of good ideas in all subjects.
We have a new student schedule form for any student who is being left at school for classes without his/her parent. Extra forms are on Julie’s counter. Please return completed forms to the tub on Julie’s counter.
We don't offer Drivers' Education at ERCLC, but it is widely available online. Here are a few links, along with the prices at the time we checked (no endorsement implied):
cheapdriversed.com ($59), driversed.com ($99), teendriverseducation.com ($70), cadrivingschool.com($109), trafficschool.com ($69), cal-driver-ed.com ($40 online course or $50 for home study workbook course), penschool.com ($75)
Check out the "High School Notes" item on the menu. Each teacher now has a blog site with links on the high school page. This is to keep you posted on assignments, schedules, and resources for your Wednesday Classes.
Some of our students and families have their own web sites and/or blogs (the numbers have dwindled recently). Blogs are a form of publication. Your children can learn to write for an actual audience by creating a blog (see Blogspot.com or other free blog hosts). There is a page of links to these called "Students and Families". If you have a web site you would like linked from the school's web site, please contact me at david at erclc.org.
